Why Not Join
Freemasonry, is founded on the three great principals of Brotherly Love, Relief and Truth, has a history that dates back three centuries, is open to new members.
One of the many misconceptions about Freemasonry is that you can only join by Invitation. This is not the case. Any man who has a genuine interest can ask to join our order.
Whilst it is true that most men who join Freemasonry do so because they already have a friend or a relation who is a freemason, we also have members who have joined without knowing any other mason
The qualifications for membership are that you should be a man over the age of 21 and able to profess a belief in a supreme being. Freemasons are drawn from all walks of life and neither position nor financial status has any influence on a member’s progress.
Being formally proposed for membership of a lodge it is usual for a candidate to meet and discuss with two experienced freemasons so that the candidate understands the nature of freemasonry, also the lodge can be sure that candidates expectations and aspirations are in keeping with principals of the order
We welcome membership enquiries and extends the “Masonic Hand of Friendship” to all new members.
The United Grand Lodge of England website has an excellent introduction which will give you lots more information.
